This is the web site for the 21st(Eastern Green) Coventry Scout Troop. As you have probably gathered we are based in Eastern Green, Coventry, UK. We are members of Earlsdon District which is part of Coventry Scout County.
The Scout Group which we belong to consists of the following sections :
o Beaver Colony
o 2 Cub Packs
o Scout Troop
o Venture Unit
The Troop meets on a Monday night from 7:30 - 9:30. We have our own headquarters building and grounds
To identify us from the rest of Earlsdon District, we wear a group neckerchief which is grey and a group badge(To be detailed later). This is worn on the point of the neckerchief for Cubs and Scouts. Ventures and Leaders also wear one on the right shirt sleeve where a Patrol flash would usually be.
At the time of writing the Troop is run by 2 leaders and 2 part time helpers. These are:
Scott Wiggins - Scout Leader & Web Master
Mark Goddard - Assistant Scout Leader
Jason Wiggins - Scout Instructor
Chris Nixon - Scout Instructor
We currently have 17 boys in the Troop, including cubs currently "Going Up". These are split into 3 patrols. Hopefully we wish to grow a bit more and return to 4 patrols as a minimum. Each Patrol has a Patrol Leader and Assistant Patrol Leader. The remaindr of the patrol is from a cross section of Troop Members. We work on mixed age and ability Patrols to encourage team work and development.
Patrol Leaders and their assistants are awarded on Merit only, not age. This we believe is a fairer approach to all concerned.
