Survival Skills InformationYou may ask why I write this when there are so many books available on Backwoods and survival skills. My response is that I find the majority of them to contain skills which are either not relevant to Scouts or are taken to a measure which is too extreme.
In this article I am endevouring to write a piece of work which contains information that would be relevant to Scouts and at the same time understandable to leaders or anybody else.
I would like to thank Lofty and Ray for their continued efforts in spreading the word.

The Survival Skills Badge, or Backwoodsman Badge as it used to be called, is not an award that is easy to gain, but enables the Scout to achieve not only the said badge but also many other elements of test work in one go.
This site will detail the skills which will enable a Scout to gain the award by putting the knowledge listed into practice over the 36 hour period required by the Scout Association.
